Gas Processing

Chiyoda’s expertise and experience in the natural gas treatment field extends beyond the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of LNG production facilities, and includes liquid separation plants at natural gas wellheads, natural gas receiving facilities, gas treating processes that refine gas to satisfy the source material standard of LNG production facilities or gas sales, gas standards, gas storage and transportation infrastructure.

The following is an introduction to gas treating facility technology, a subset of upstream/gas processing technologies.

Key technology

Gas treatment comprises gas processing plants to produce gas that satisfy sales standards or source material standards of an LNG production facility, including acid gas removal (AGR), sulfur recovery units (SRU), tail gas treatment (TGT), dehydration and organic sulfur removal processes which use a molecular sieve (MS Treater).

The process efficiently removes acid gas components from the source gas, recovers removed sulfur components as high-quality elemental sulfur and is essential for the system’s environmental performance.
