Project Lifecycle Engineering (PLE) requires various technologies in each phase. In order to execute high level and uniform PLE, Chiyoda has promoted the global standardization of design criteria and execution procedures including domestic and overseas subsidiaries. And also, Chiyoda introduces or develops cutting-edge technologies necessary to implement PLE with the aim of a more efficient and reliable plant design. For example, in recognizing the importance of process simulation, Chiyoda has been developing various simulators/tools since the 1970’s which are highly regarded by clients for the high-precision basic designs.
In current Information Technology era, using systems which integrate these simulators/tools organically, Chiyoda is capable to design increasingly larger and more complicated plants in a more efficient and precise manner with a combination of “Design by Rule,” in which existing manuals and design approaches are followed, and “Design by Analysis,” in which tailored analyses are carried out to design important areas using Simulation and Analysis Technology. This Analysis Technology also contributes in solving problems in operation phase of each plant significantly.
In engineering work, integrated information created in each design phase is necessary. Using the latest Engineering for IT, Chiyoda has constructed the integrated system (i-PLANT21) with a centralized data warehouse intended to achieve efficient design information flow from upstream to downstream, including global information exchange i.e. from the head office, to worldwide design offices, vendors, clients, and construction sites, and still improving continually. Now it becomes more advanced integrated system for project execution wherein every accumulated data in i-PLANT21 are transferred to client after completion and utilized for their plant operation and maintenance. Chiyoda Group is continually striving excellence towards improvement and development of technologies necessary for each PLE phase. For utility facilities, for example, Chiyoda offers client a well-balanced Integrated Utility technology while improving various utility technologies focused on energy and water.
Chiyoda recently started to provide computer graphics animation service (Chiyoda Visual Management) useful during planning phase which shows images or videos of a completed Plant including information how to operate 3D model technology and animation. This is well received by clients since it helps them in plant overview and also for decision-making and promotion.
