New Organization Structure effective from 1 April 2018

Information Dec 27, 2017

I am pleased to announce a new Chiyoda Corporation organizational structure, effective from 1 April 2018. Aim and purpose for this are explained as below.

Firstly, the three specific strategies for growth as discussed in the Medium Term Management Plan (MTMP); (1) build an energy value chain business, (2) expand the global environmental business, and (3) develop a new business model for the digital society, will be realized from the creation of three new operational divisions: ‘Energy Project Operations Division’, ‘Global Environment & Green Energy Project Operations Division’ and ‘ChAS & Digital Technology Project Operations Division’.

Secondly, to accelerate the implementation of growth strategies, new ’Corporate Planning Division’ will monitor the macro environment, explore new businesses and develop appropriate medium to long term strategies from a company-wide perspective. The ’Corporate Planning Division’ will thus act as a ‘Control Tower’ for Corporate Management.

Thirdly, to enhance our risk management and project management capabilities also discussed in the MTMP, corporate function divisions will be reorganized. In particular ’Corporate Planning and Management Division’, ‘Corporate Risk Management Division’ and ‘Global Project Management Division’ will be amalgamated into ‘Corporate Management Division’ and ‘Project Management Division’.

Fourthly, in addition to CFO, new Chief Officers will be appointed as follows:

  • Chief Talent Management Officer (CTMO) will be responsible for staff allocation.
  • Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) will be responsible for strengthening compliance.
  • Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will be responsible for human resources development.
  • Chief Digital Officer (CDO) will be responsible for strengthening digital innovation including Internet Of Things (IOT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

I believe that this new organizational structure will enable us to more effectively respond to the needs of our stakeholders.

We sincerely look forward to your continued support.

Masaji Santo
