Resource Recycling Plants

Constructing Recovery Plants for High Value Materials, such as Rare and Precious Metals

The demand for recovering rare and precious metals from recycled materials, such as disused electronic boards scrap and residues (Urban Mines), is increasing in line with the recycling of limited resources towards the realization of a sustainable society.

Chiyoda has applied its engineering expertise in the design and construction of rare and precious metal recycling and refining plants from feasibility studies since the early 2000s.

We successfully met our customers’ expectations, utilizing our prominent engineering capabilities, through experiences including a joint research project on lithium recovery from salt lake brackish water and rare earth recovery from tin residues.

Following expertise are also applied at design and construction:

Chiyoda’s expertise includes the knowledge of structure and manufacturing of products targeted for recycling and is useful separation and purification processes for high-value materials in the reverse process.
Our experiences of constructing rare and precious metal plants is effectively used the evaluation of dismantling processes for related products.

Scalability is essential for these plants that need higher rate of recycling and shift of objective products.
By providing support from the initial planning stage, Chiyoda optimizes layouts and design utilities reflecting future plans, including welfare facilities and Open Factory functions besides production functions.
