From the USA to the World: A Bridge for a Stable Supply of Environmentally friendly LNG
This Engineering, Procurement and Construction project is to convert the existing Golden Pass LNG receiving facilities into a new natural gas liquefaction plant, with a production capacity of 15.6 million tons per annum (mtpa) (3 x 5.2 mtpa trains) in Sabine Pass, Texas.
The customer, Golden Pass LNG Terminal LLC, is a joint venture formed between QatarEnergy and ExxonMobil, two of the world's largest oil/gas companies with whom Chiyoda has established robust and longstanding working relationships.
The Shale Revolution made the USA the world’s largest oil/gas producing country and Chiyoda utilized its expertise and experience acquired through the construction of two other large-scale LNG projects on the Gulf Coast in the USA, Cameron LNG and Freeport LNG, to successfully complete the Golden Pass LNG project and supply environmentally friendly LNG from the USA to the rest of the world.
