Initiatives to boost regional business through job creation in local communities

In this project, Chiyoda has completed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) operations for Solar Frontier’s fourth manufacturing plant of CIS thin film modules, the Tohoku Plant.

With the completion of the Tohoku Plant, we aim to introduce cutting-edge technologies based on further progress in production technology achieved by the Kunitomi Plant (which has an annual production capacity: 900 megawatts).

At a press conference jointly held prior to the completion ceremony by Miyagi Prefectural Government, Ohira Village, and Solar Frontier K.K., Governor Yoshihiro Murai of Miyagi Prefecture said, “It is my sincere hope that the launch of the Tohoku Plant will help to promote the further use of renewable energy in Miyagi Prefecture and the revitalization of the regional economy and industry through job creation in local communities.”

With the completion of the Tohoku Plant, Chiyoda expects it will help Solar Frontier K.K. bolster its competitiveness while contributing to the growth of the regional economy.
