Chiyoda Corporation (“Chiyoda”) is pleased to announce the inauguration of an MSPT-CSP demonstration plant, constructed jointly with Archimede Solar Energy (“ASE”), Italy. The inauguration ceremony was held in Massa Martana, Italy on July 3rd, 2013 with a large number of people in attendance.

The demonstration plant will introduce a new CSP system which was brought together by Italian manufacturing technology of collector tube and Japanese engineering expertise and will be the launch platform for the two companies’ R&D activities for further innovation.

The new system incorporating molten salt will improve the efficiency of electricity generation. Molten salt is adopted both as a heat transfer fluid and as a heat-storage medium which allows an operating temperature of up to 550 degree Celsius.

Chiyoda and ASE aim to establish an economically and technologically optimized system through the demonstration to achieve a stable supply of “Green Electricity”, which will even be available during the hours of darkness.
